Cross Promotion: Mondo Generator oder mein erstes Mal Rare Guitar in Münster

Noch nie im Rare Guitar in Münster gewesen? Dann wird es ja aller höchste Eisenbahn! Extra der Glitzerteppich auf der Bühne neu ausgerollt, präsentiert sich der Club-Event- Gitarren Laden in schönstem Licht der Abendsonne. Schon über eine Stunde vor Start stehen und sitzen einige Besucher vor der Venue unter der Aufsicht von Nick Oliveri auf der Terrasse.

Kein Wunder, dass der Andrang groß ist, haben Mondo Generator wohl letztes Jahr hier schon den Abriss geprobt. Diesmal unterstützt von der hauseigenen Band Convoy, die sich in Münster schon einen kleinen Kultstatus erspielt haben. Die Band, die schon beim Tabernas Desert Rock Fest 2022 gespielt hat, darf dies auch diesen Oktober wieder tun. Mit zwei Sängern ausgerüstet schwappt die Spielfreude pünktlich ab 20:30 und weiht damit die neu gestaltete Stage mit Glanz und Gloria ein. Die Sache ist rund und bunt, Convoy hat das Publikum am Wickel, es müssen bald mehr Songs her, um mit einem Rundum-Sorglospaket auf Tour gehen zu können. Ich bin schon gespannt auf den spanischen Gig am 6.- 8.10.23 im Fort Bravo, in der Tabernas  Wüste und die staubigen, schweißtreibenden Klänge!

Nach kurzer Pause und einer Münsteraner Cola geht es weiter mit dem Trio aus USA. Mike, Mike und Nick sind alte Hasen. Jeder Auftritt macht Mike Amster an den Drums ein Jahr älter, den der Kerl haut das Kit zusammen wie kein Zweiter. Gutgelaunt und mit schickem Tequila gedopt rattern und schnarren the best of- tracks von Bass und Pygmie-Gitarre. Nick ist gutgelaunt, das Publikum mehr als entzückt, da natürlich auch Kyuss-Anteile die Set liste erweitern. Green Machine fehlt eigentlich nie. Aber auch das Neuste vom Neusten wird zum Besten gegeben Death March- im Oktober auf der neuen Scheibe zu finden:  We Stand Against You !

Aber auch ein Erinnerungssong für Mark Lanegan ist wieder drin. Diesmal: Dead Silence („he would‘ve laughed his ass off for that“ kommentiert Nick). Die Hommage an Josh Homme war irgendwas mit Freundschaft oder Verrat, ich hab es nicht ganz mitbekommen, aber – egal- show is show – weitere Runde vorzüglichstem Tequila-Fan-Geschenk und die drei Berserker stonerrockern weiter bis der Club schweißgebadet tanzend nach mehr verlangt! Was ein wahnsinniger Abend, Worte sind nicht genug um Begeisterung zu beschreiben.

Ich fahre jedenfalls glücklich und zufrieden meine 145 km gen Köln, während im Rare Guitar noch weiter gefeiert wird. Ganz wie ich es liebe.

English Version:Cross Promotion Mondo Generator or my first time Have you never been to the Rare Guitar in Münster? Then it will be the highest railroad! The glitter carpet on the stage was specially rolled out, and the club event guitar shop presents itself in the most beautiful light of the evening sun. More than an hour before the start, some visitors are standing and sitting on the terrace in front of the venue under the supervision of Nick Oliveri. It’s no wonder that there’s such a rush, as Mondo Generator must have rehearsed the demolition here last year. This time supported by the in-house band Convoy, who have already achieved a small cult status in Münster. The band, which has already played at the Tabernas Desertrockfest 2022, can do so again this October. Equipped with two singers, the joy of playing sloshes punctually from 8:30 p.m. and thus inaugurates the newly designed stage with glamor and glory. The whole thing is round and colorful, Convoy has the audience hooked, more songs are needed soon in order to be able to go on tour with an all-round carefree package. I’m already looking forward to the Spanish gig on October 6th – 8th, 2023 in Fort Bravo, in the Tabernas desert and the dusty, sweaty sounds! After a short break and a Münster Cola, the trio from the USA continues. Mike, Mike and Nick are old hands. Every performance makes Mike Amster on the drums a year older, because the guy bangs the kit together like no other. In a good mood and doped with chic tequila, the best of tracks rattle and buzz from bass and pygmy guitar. Nick is in a good mood, and the audience is more than delighted, as of course Kyuss parts also expand the set list. Green Machine is never missing. But also the newest of the newest is given for the best Death March- to be found in October on the new disc: We Stand Against You! But there is also a memory song for Mark Lanegan again. This time: Dead Silence (he would’ve laughed his ass off for that). The homage to Josh Homme was something to do with friendship or betrayal, I didn’t quite get it, but – it doesn’t matter – show is show – another round of the best tequila fan gift and the three berserker stoner rockers continued until the club, bathed in sweat and dancing, asked for more! What an amazing evening, words are not enough to describe the excitement. In any case, I drive my 145 km towards Cologne happily and contentedly, while the celebrations continue at Rare Guitar. Just how I love it.
